Notifications
Notifications are available on Premium and Enterprise plans .
Users need at least the Explorer role and Edit or Manage permission
on the workbook to set up notifications.
Notifications let you send email or Slack messages with a screenshot of a dashboard after each scheduled refresh. This is useful for distributing regular updates to stakeholders without requiring them to log in.
Creating a notification
Notifications are configured as part of a scheduled refresh. When creating or editing a schedule, click to expand the notification configuration card.
Delivery channel
Toggle between two delivery channels:
- Email — select multiple recipients from workspace users using a searchable picker with checkboxes.
- Slack — select a Slack channel to post to. Requires connecting your Slack workspace first (one-time OAuth flow via ). Once connected, select a channel from a searchable picker.

Choose the format for the dashboard screenshot attached to the notification:
- PNG (default)
Select the format using the option.
Removing a notification
To remove a notification from a scheduled refresh, click the X button in the notification card header before saving.
Email notifications
Email notifications are sent to selected workspace users after a scheduled refresh completes. Each recipient receives a message with a link to the dashboard and the attached screenshot.
Slack notifications
Slack notifications post a message with the dashboard screenshot to a single Slack channel per schedule.
Connecting Slack
Before you can send Slack notifications, connect your Slack workspace:
- When configuring a notification, select as the delivery channel.
- Click to start the OAuth flow.
- Authorize Cube to post to your Slack workspace.
This is a one-time setup. Once connected, you can select any channel your Slack workspace has access to.
