In this talk, we’ll see how a unified semantic layer—or metrics layer? or the Headless BI platform in the heart of your data pipeline?—can help navigate the breadth of tools in the Modern Data Stack. We’ll see how compelling it is to have a visualization-agnostic way to query data from whatever downstream tool your data consumers use: from BIs to data notebooks to front-end apps to periodic jobs.
I believe that it can provide a useful mental model that you can apply to thinking about the tools in the MDS—and how that can be stitched together in the most semantic way.
