Cube Cloud provides extensive connectivity options for BIs, spreadsheets, and many other kinds of data visualization tools, including but not limited to Semantic Layer Sync and various APIs. With these options, you can rely on Cube Cloud as the central source of truth for your metrics that can be delivered to wherever your business users are.

Today, we're rolling out an update to Cube Cloud that simplifies and streamlines the connection flow. Now, you can pick a tool and get a suggestion on the best way to connect that tool to Cube Cloud. Here's how it works:

Let's take a look at a few examples:

  • If you're connecting Microsoft Power BI or Tableau as well as Preset, Superset, or Metabase, Semantic Layer Sync will provide the best experience.
  • If you're connecting Amazon QuickSight, Looker Studio, Sigma, or ThoughtSpot, the SQL API is the right option.
  • If you're connecting Microsoft Excel, the MDX API will be a natural choice.
  • Finally, if you're connecting a React, Node.js, or Python application, the REST API is a proven option.

Since Cube Cloud supports substantially more BIs, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools than mentioned above, it's best to refer to the documentation for guidance regarding specific tools. However, we encourage you to try the updated connection flow yourself: just sign up for Cube Cloud, create a deployment, and click Connect to Cube on the Overview page.

If you have questions or suggestions regarding BIs and data visualization tools that Cube Cloud works with, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
